Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Ledger. By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

What Ledger is

Ledger is a personal utility app for tracking household expenses shared between two people. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a financial advisor, or a financial institution of any kind. It does not move money, extend credit, or provide financial, tax, or investment advice. Any numbers, categorizations, budgets, or insights it shows are for your own personal bookkeeping and may contain errors — always verify against your bank's own records before relying on them.

Acceptable use

• You will only use Ledger to track your own household's finances, with the consent of your household partner.
• You will not attempt to access another household's data, reverse-engineer the app, or use it to interfere with the service's normal operation.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

Your data

You retain ownership of the transaction and financial data you enter or that the app captures on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is collected and how it's handled.

No warranty

Ledger is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. SMS parsing and auto-categorization are best-effort and may misread or miss transactions — you're responsible for reviewing your own ledger.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ledger and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including inaccurate balances, missed transactions, or reliance on any figure the app displays.

Termination

You may stop using the app and request deletion of your household's data at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
